I recently viewed a story on the 9 o'clock news where the city of Racine was placing cameras on certain streets. The cameras gave the police much more techology wise but I find it to be a violation of our right to privacy and a waste of taxpayer money (50k each). Gary Becker, the mayor, is running the city into the ground.

Recent reports are that Ryan Grant will work out wih the Packers this offseason, but will not report to traning camp until he gets a new contract. Now with Favre gone, they can afford to pay more to players. Should they keep Grant? Or cash in on him at a high and get some picks?

This afternoon, I saw that a barrell of oil surpassed the $100 mark. What a great start to '08!
When will the notion of forgein energy dependency and limited natural resources set in? Not only is oil expensive from a monetary standpoint, but it's also expensive from an environmental standpoint. I have began looking at hybrid cars which are very costly and unaffordable for me at this time. JD Byrider doesn't have any hybrids, but will let me know if they come across one. What are your ideas for being less dependent on oil and more conscience about the environment?

Wow is it amazing how much smoother evacuations in cities go when the individuals of that city are civilized. 500,000 people were evacuated from their homes in San Diego. Unlike New Orleans, 2 years ago, they actually left. But similar to New Orleans, they seeked shelter in the local stadium, Qualcomm Stadium. I have yet to hear any hidious stories and rukus in San Diego that I heard about New Orleans. No shooting at help, looting and little complaining.
I see this as not a race issue, but a class issue. These are 2 different situations that have some similarities. Do you see similarities? Why do you think San Diego is going much smoother?

I am glad to see that 3 of the 4 were found guilty. But guanentee you 4 out of the 4 are racists. Not only was the beating by the off duty officers, but by local jurors who just happened to be all white.
But what might disappoint us is the sentence which they receive. This guilty verdict is only as good as it's punishment. These officers beat up a biracial man for christ's sake. I hope a hate crime is tacked on to the sentence, therefore extending the length of time they do.

Now that Fox 6 has successfully and rightfully so added the Political blog category, I think a Technology one should at least be piloted. This would be a great forum for us all to discuss products and their broadband services availabe.

It makes me sick that the University of Colorado has just fired Ward Churhill. He has done nothing but speak up for atrocities committed to native americans and other minorities which are oppressed for their beliefs. This is a sad day in America when extreme right-winged, irresponsible talk show hosts have just brought a man down after such a long effort. Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reily are just a few who have led this fight. ACLU, please do something...

I am so excited this week because minimum wage will increase to 5.85. With more to come. I know some are thinking it as just a mere $.70 raise, but it's a start. How do we expect these people to live on such a low wage? It's a crime that the minimum wage isn't at least 10 dollars per hour.

Universal health care will be a crucial topic in the '08 election. I believe our next president needs to be fully dedicated and held accountable for implementing a health care program for all individuals of all origins and economic backgrounds. A system must be developed without insurance companies getting in the way to fatten the pockets of lobbists, politicians and rich CEO's.

I can't help but find Ted Perry's editorials arbritrary and pointless. What good is an editorial that does not address anything serious? Last nights (7/16) Ted's Take, Ted rambled on about his love affair with the amputee that wants to run track. How about talking about something relevant?
Then Ted feels bad because the amputee was disqualified for stepping in someone else's lane. These fake limbs could be endangering those around him, which Ted obviously didn't think over.
If there is not going to be any substance to Ted's take, then why put him on there.

That was the most biased report I've seen on local news in some time. Was Nicholas even wearing a helmet??????
He wasn't in the picture that you showed on the news and if he wasn't during the accident he should've been more cautious. I'm not saying he deserved to die, because no one does. However, I'm very suspicious of the report put out there for the benefit of a police chief. One has to believe that this story would've never aired had the "victim" not been the son of a local police chief.
Also rediculous is the introduction of the story, Thomas is advertised as smoking pot and sleeping til noon -like Marvel Thomas really said that in an interview, while Nicholas is an MATC standout. This was bad journalism at it's worst.
To clear up any misunderstandings, I feel sorry for Nicholas, but I find this story is very vendictive and 1 sided. Maybe the finger should be pointed at Nicholas if a helmet was not worn!???

Why is Ned Yost playing Bill Hall in a position, that he's clearly uncofortable with and has been costly when they have Tony Gwyn Jr, who' s a great fielder and likely a good hitter too?
Hall is making costly errors in the field which may be affecting his confidence on offense. It's so obvious Melvin and Yost want to deal Gwyn. I think this would be a bad idea, especially since Yost is consistantly trying to work Grafinino and Counsel in the lineup. Fire Yost!

Best show on tv this past season was "I Love New York"! That's real, reality television, unlike "Survivor" or "the Apprentice".

The clock is winding down until Ahman Green becomes an Unresticted free-agent. I think Thompson is approaching this situation the correct way by letting him test the market with other teams. He's now 30 years old and has a ton of miles on him. I think he'll eventually end up staying in Green Bay, but for about 2 - 3 million per year with an incentive based contract. Green is not worth $4 million.

I don't understand how backwards headed the state of Wisconsin is heading. Especially when conducting an admissions policy where race is taken as a factor.
What do you think?
