Yippie.... Now it's time to catch the other numerous wanted felons in Philly.

It's funny ladies and gents. When the PUBLIC cooperates... I mean really works as a unit do you see what happens? S*** gets done. Don't ever tell me that it doesn't work.

I wonder how many people will "claim" the reward!

My grandfather, father, mother, and all of my siblings are police officers... Crap. I'm married to a police officer... And double crap, I AM A POLICE OFFICER... (can we curse on this forum?)

It saddens me (and sometimes humors me) to read the responses about the police shooting and now the police beating. I buss my BLEEP out here 6 days a week to protect and serve YOU! I know we signed up to put our lives on the line, but what we didn't sign up for was to be verbally assualted by the civilians that we "protect and serve".

I'm sure all of you have called 911... You know, when your child dashed in front of a moving car and was hit (when you were not paying attention). You know, when you were involved in a domestic dispute... and you wanted... no NEEDED... *US* for assistance. You weren't complaining on how horrible the police department was then. Were you?

As a police officer AND A CIVILIAN I do believe the force used in the beating was a tad bit obsessive. I do also believe (forgive me for having an opinion) that these suspects probably did need the s*** beat out of them. Not to the point of unconsciousness, but a d*** good one! I'm sure the family of the PEOPLE THAT THEY SHOT believed they deserved worse than the beat down of a lifetime.

And for the people who believe it's a shame how the city gets "locked down" when a police officer is killed... I agree with that too. It's really unfortunate that task forces are assembled within minutes and dispatched to find the killer of a fallen police officer. What the public doesn't see is what's behind the scenes. We deal with numerous violent acts a day. We are bombarded (ratio is 11 to 1) with suspects who we're already looking for and that doesn't include the numerous new (and repeat) offenders that are added to the list DAILY! I can honestly say that part of the problem is NEIGHBORHOOD PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT. Ah, yes it sometimes boils back to the community that is so unwilling to help, but want to beat us down because we don't catch the offenders in enough time (or at all for that matter).

I say this to say WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU, THE PUBLIC! STAND UP FOR WHAT'S RIGHT. If you see something and you are afraid to come forth with information... Drop an anonymous letter to the police station in your area. We have two hotlines set up for anonymity. 215 685 1137 or 215 683 9268. Please use them!

Don't complain if you aren't willing to make a change. Now please excuse me while I prepare myself mentally, physically, and emotionally for three funerals in the coming days (Sgt. Steven Liczbinski- 24th District, Officer George Bobe- 19th District, and Officer Terrance Young- 14th District). Oh, and I also have to prepare not only to put my life on the line, but deal with the public's opinion.
